Verna J. Ostrenga, 98, formerly of Little Suamico, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Cardinal Ridge Residential Care, Howard. She was born in Milwaukee on Dec. 21, 1913 to the late Stanley and Frances Holewinski. Verna married Anthony Ostrenga in Sobieski on Oct. 3, 1933. She was a lifetime resident of Little Suamico and a homemaker. Verna enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking and baking, needlework, dancing and card playing.

Survivors include her children, Raymond (Mary) Ostrenga, Las Cruces, NM; James Ostrenga, Green Bay; Bernadine (Allen) Gauthier, Howard; grandchildren, Carol Williams, Copeland, KS; Lois (Jim) Belekevich, Madison, WI; Dan Gauthier, Midland, MI; Melissa Gauthier, Providence, RI; Andy Ostrenga (fiancée, Mindy), Longmont, CO; Sarah (Josh) Cipolla, Sunnyvale, CA; great grandchildren, Vance (Pamela) Williams, Thayer, KS; Rhonda Williams, Colby, KS; Willow Cipolla, Sunnyvale, CA; great-great grandchildren, Jason Williams and Mason Williams, Thayer, KS. Further survived by nieces, nephews and friends.

Verna was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Ostrenga; sister, Violet Klopotek; brothers, Casey Holewinski and Ed Holewinski; sister-in-law, Edna Holewinski; brother-in-law, Richard Klopotek.

Family and friends may call on Monday, May 14, 2012 from 10 until 11:00 a.m. at Suamico United Methodist Church, 3266 Lakeview Drive (intercession of County J and Riverside Drive), Suamico. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church with Pastor Deanna Merritt officiating. Burial to be in the Polish National Cemetery, Pulaski.
