Martha Ann Ghan was born near Clever, Mo., May 22, 1856 and passed away Sept.8, 1945, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Willard Frazier, the home being located on the same farm where Mrs. Ghan was born. In 1876 she was united in marriage to L.P. Ghan and to this union were born seven children. Her husband, one son and three daughters preceded her in death. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist church, and was at the time of her death a member of the Clever Methodist church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. George Merritt and Mrs. Willard Frazier, both of Clever, and Mrs. Robert H. Baker of Springfield; 18 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and one half sister, Mrs. Harry Morton, of Plant City, Fla. Funeral services held Sunday afternoon in the Frazier chapel were conducted by Rev. D.S. Frazier of Clever. Interment was made in the Frazier cemetery under direction of the Wilburn Maples Funeral Home of Clever.
