Maurice Ackerman, 51, Kenmare, died Tuesday. Funeral Friday at 10:30 a.m., St. Agnes Catholic Church, Kenmare. Burial church cemetery. Military rites by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Kenmare.

Rosary recitation tonight at 8 at the church.

Mr. Ackerman was born Dec. 27, 1927, at Kenaston, and reared at Kenmare. From 1946 until 1948 he served in the Army. He married Adeline Mortensen June 4, 1949, at Kenmare. He was engineer for Divide and Burke counties. Mr. Ackerman was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, the County Engineers Association, the Veterans Ambulance Association, City Planning Commission, Firemen’s Association and the Veterans of Foreign Wars post, all at Kenmare, and the North Dakota Society of Professional Land Surveyors. He was a lifetime member of the North Dakota Firemen’s Association.

Survivors: wife, mother, Mrs. Rose Ackerman, Kenmare; daughter, Mrs. Fred (Adele) Gartner, Houston, Texas; sons, Allen, Kenmare, and Rollan, Minot; sisters, Mrs. Leo Schmitz, Custer, S.D., Mrs. Lloyd Mattern, Kenmare, Mrs. Marilyn Kalmbach, Flaxton, Mrs. Jim Bartuska, Mohall, and Mrs. James Clark, Wilbur, Wash.; brothers, Lawrence, Elgin, Peter, Minot, J.J. (Bud) Ackerman, Alvin, James and Leroy, all Kenmare; and six grandchildren.
