Rites Thursday for Harold K. Staael

Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 10th at 2 p.m. in Nazareth Lutheran Church, for Harold K. Staael, age 70, of Minot and formerly of Kenmare, who died Nov. 5th at his home in Minot.

Rev. Donald Burton officiated, Mrs. Irene Gravesen was organist and Mrs. Julie Burton sang. Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery with Thompson-Larson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements,

He was born Sept. 17, 1913, in Greenbush Township, Ward County, a son of Otto and Thea Staael and reared there. He served with the Civilian Conservation Corps in Arkansas and then returned to North Dakota to farm near Sherwood. He later worked for the Kenmare Laundry and Cleaners for 14 years before moving to Sand Point, Idaho, where he lived for five years. He returned again to North Dakota and worked for the Ward County Highway Department at Minot until retiring in 1978.

He married Luella Sundley in 1950. She died in 1965. He married Ruth Rears in 1966. She survives, along with a stepson, James Sundley, Powers Lake; stepdaughter, Margery Chapman of Indiana; brother, Duane "Budd" Staael, Willow City; sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Gladys) Claxton, Sun City, Ariz., Mrs. Walter (Violet) Dennhardt, Rentoul, Ill.
