Elizabeth Esther, 85, of Jones, passed away Wednesday. Services will be 2pm Saturday, at the First United Methodist Church at Jones, internment Jones IOOF Mausoleum, directed by Bill Eisenhour NE Funeral Home.

Born Sept. 21, 1899 in Piedmont, Oklahoma, a graduate of Central State Teachers College, she taught school in Jones until her retirement. She also owned and operated Frederick’s Mercantile for 45 years. A member of the First United Methodist Church of Jones since 1927, she was a member of the First Worthy Matron’s of Jones, helping to institute the Eastern Star.

Survived by her son, Bill of Jones; 2 daughters, Mrs. Dorothy G. Jones of Jones, and Mrs. Carole Langley of Creve Coeur, Missouri; a brother, Clifford Tolbert of Pauls Valley and a sister, Mrs. DeWitt Miller of El Reno; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
