Joe and Kate were married on 14Oct1856. There are marriage records for their marriage on that date in both McCracken County, Kentucky and Massac County, Illinois. I don't know why, but they are there. They lived in Tennessee for a short while and then moved to McCracken County, Kentucky near her family where they farmed until they removed to Texas.

They had four sons:

The family lore has it that John went back to Kentucky to help build a cabin/home in 1892 and was killed when a tree fell on him, but I can not find any evidence to support that he died ANYWHERE.
Alice married five years later on 2Sep1897 in Tarrant County, Texas to Alexander H “Alex” REID.
Robert Lee died in Kentucky between 1870 and 1880, but I can not locate any further information on him.
Joe and Kate moved to Denison in 1894 where Joe ran a wagon yard in Denison until he died in 1900.
After Joe died, Kate lived in Denison for another nine years at 221 N. Houston Avenue. At various times her sons Joe and Jim lived with her, as did a grandson William Oscar PLUMMER. By 1910, she had moved to Tulip in Fannin County where Jim had a store. She lived there with him until she died at his home in 1923.
