Fabian William Adams was born on January 23, 1844, in Randolph (now Quitman) County, Georgia. He was the eldest son and second child of Lewis Nashwell Adams and Alice Jane Albritton. When Fabian was 5 years old, the family moved to Eufaula in Barbour County, Alabama. At age 18, in 1862, Fabian enlisted in the CSA and served with the 39th Alabama Regiment until the war ended in 1865. After the war, Fabian returned to his family in Barbour County. On September 5, 1865, he married Mazie Frances Bush, a daughter of Joseph Andrew Bush and Mary Ann Redmond. Fabian William Adams died at age 82, on July 19, 1926. Mazie Frances, his wife of 61 years, was called "Babe". Mazie died 5 years later on May 27, 1931. She was buried beside Fabian Adams in Union Cemetery at Ozark, Alabama.
