She leaves a broken-hearted husband and seven children and a host of friends to mourn her death. Weep not dear husband for she is resting on the other shore, waiting for your coming. Dear children weep not for mama, for she is safe in the arms of Jesus. God, take pity on little Sofrona, who calls for mama. But her baby calls can not wake her. Willie take good care of Sofrona, for she never will know what a mother was.
Mrs. Spangler was a true Christian and was loved by all who knew her. She was a member of the Baptist church.
She told all that she never would get well, and that her way was clear. She called them all to her bedside before she died. She begged them to let her shout. She sang several songs, and died singing.
The woman circle of the W. O. W. put her away, and went through with the regular ceremony. There was a large number of sorrowing relatives and friends to follow her to her last resting place, to pay the last tribute of respect to the one we loved so well. There is a vacant place in this home that cannot be filled.
"A precious one from us has gone,
A voice we loved is still;
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled."
Aunt Mary.
