Funeral services for Frances Marion Camp will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Okemah. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, Okemah, Oklahoma. Frances Marion Camp was born June 21, 1914 in Okemah, Oklahoma to Tom P. Camp and Luna Maud (Cobb) Camp. She passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012 at the age of 97 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Mrs. Camp had been a resident of Okemah all of her life. She graduated from Okemah High School in 1934 and later graduated from Oklahoma A & M in 1938. Mrs. Camp taught school at Dougherty for one year and was manager of the Camp Ranch from 1939 to 1961. She also worked with the Department of Human Services until her retirement in 1978. Mrs. Camp loved reading, gardening, canning and sewing. She enjoyed telling stories about her days working with her father at the Camp Ranch. Mrs. Camp was also a member of the First Baptist Church here in Okemah. Preceding her in death were her parents, one brother, Thomas C. Camp, and one sister, Edna Mae Johnson. Survivors include: Her 7 nieces, June Allen and Clark Marsh of Oklahoma City, OK, Linda J. Hunt and Martha Jean Schenke, of Chickasha, OK., Kathryn Green and Dick of Oklahoma City, OK, Louise Stidham and Jack of Eufaula, OK., Marylin Nease and Charles of Dallas, TX., Frances Flinn and husband Larry of Ft. Worth, TX and Luna Burnett and Rex Hefner of Okemah, OK. Serving as active pallbearer will be Shirley Jacobs, Gary Rollins, Brad Ezell, David Hunt, Lisa Bielss, Brandon Burnett and Houston Hunt. Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah and officiated by Rev. Ledtkey McIntosh.
