Born Dec. 16, 1926, in Princeton to Ernest and Imogene Chase Eckhoff, she married George Homer Roberts Jr. on June 19, 1944, in Sheffield. He died Dec. 2, 1982.
She also was preceded in death by one sister, two sons and an infant granddaughter.
She married Wayland Arnold on Oct. 23, 1983, in Buda. He survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Larry Roberts, Jerre Roberts and Ernest Roberts, all of Buda; two stepsons, Gaile Arnold of Buda and Gerald Arnold of Downers Grove; three daughters, Mrs. Pete (Cynthia) DeFreezer of Buda, Mrs. Daniel (Sandra) DeMay of East Moline and Mrs. William (Jolene) Rokey of Princeton; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Earl (Mary) Sanders of Rock Island; 17 grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; one great- granddaughter; one stepgreat- grandson; and one sister, Nancy Bell Sampson of Princeton.
She was employed by Buda Post Office for 15 years and drove a school bus for Western School District for nine years.
She was a member of Buda American Legion Auxiliary and Buda Rescue Unit for 17 years.
She was a member of Buda First Congregational Church.
Burial will be in Hopeland Cemetery near Buda.
