Alfred L. Sides Dies at Carbon Hill.

Alfred Lafayette Sides died at his home in Carbon Hill Friday night, December 10. Mr. Sides had become 87 years of age the day before his death.
Mr. Sides was a well known farmer and had lived his entire life in Carbon Hill. He was a member of the Methodist church.
He is survived by six sons, Burvil Sides of Addison, J. Sam Sides, Roy Sides, Milton Sides and Staples Sides all of Carbon Hill and Frank Sides of Bethany, Okla., and three daughters, Mrs. Jessie Lazenby of Carbon Hill, Mrs. Burvil Sparks of Pickneyville, Ill., and Mrs. Omery Hill of Mobile.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church with interment in Pisgah Cemetery. Active pallbearers were the six sons of Mr. Sides.

Alfred was the 1st of 8 children born to William Benjamin Sides and Sarah Francis Burton. He married (James) Alice Hendon 1 Mar 1880 in Walker County, Alabama. Children, all born in Walker County, Alabama:
