Anna Mary was born in Neudorf, Glückstal, Kherson, Russia--now Ukraine--to Frederick and Elizabeth [Guthmueller] Eberhardt. She married Jacob Friedrich Rath on February 2, 1855, in Neudorf-Tiraspol,Glückstal, Kherson, Russia. In May 1876, Jakob Rath and wife Maria [Anna Mary] arrived with the following children at Baltimore on S.S. Leipzig from Bremen, Germany: Jacob 13, Christian 9, Magdalena 5, Friedericka 2, Daniel 4 months. The family settled in Sutton, Nebraska, and lived there for ten years before moving to Cheyenne County, Kansas, in 1886. (Anna Mary died while they lived in Nebraska.)
