MOUNT SAVAGE — Mary Katherine Beal, 94, of Mount Savage, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at Allegany Nursing and Rehab Center. Born Oct. 18, 1918, in Reedsville, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Travis and Mabel (Zinn) Shoemaker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lester K. Beal; a brother, Robert Shoemaker and best friend and sister-in-law, Pauline Shoemaker. She is survived by sons Edwin E. Beal and wife Ohlee and J. Glenn Beal, both of Mount Savage; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nephews. Mrs. Beal was a homemaker and a member of the Wellersburg United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking and loved inviting people in for meals. Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday with Pastor Ken Haines officiating. Burial will be at Cooks Cemetery.
