Ethel McClain Alexander Hodge

Daughter of John Howell & Pernecie Palmer McClain.

Her first husband was Doctor Verner Alexander, married August 19, 1921. They were the parents of at least three children. D.V. died of pneumonia and influenza on March 19, 1934 in Center, Oconee County, SC.

Her second husband was C.S. Hodge, who survived her at the time of her death.

Ethel was a bookkeeper and a member of Waynesville First Baptist Church.

Survived by her husband; a son, Rev. John D. Alexander of Jackson, MS; a daughter, Mrs. Bob Wilson of Waynesville, NC; a brother, Calvin McClain of Anderson, SC, and a sister, Mrs. Sam Shaw of Augusta, GA.

Funeral services: Friday, February 15, 1985, Garrett Funeral Home.

Burial: Old Silver Brook Cemetery, Anderson, SC, with graveside services.
