Dorothy Helen Allen Williams went to her Heavenly Home to spend eternity with her Lord on Friday, July 26, 2013. A graveside service for Dorothy, age 95, West Monroe, LA, formerly a 40-year resident of Amarillo, TX, and a life-long resident of the panhandle area of Texas, will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, in the New Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 61 New Chapel Hill Road, West Monroe with Rev. Woods Watson officiating. Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe, is handling the services. Dorothy was born in Clarendon, TX on August 26, 1917. She married the love of her life George Williams in 1934 in Sayre, OK. Dorothy was very active in her church as a deacon's wife and a teacher to children of all ages. Dorothy moved to Amarillo, TX in 1958 and was a member of Paramount Baptist Church. Dorothy and George moved to West Monroe in 1995 to be near their daughter.Dorothy was a member of First Baptist Church of West Monroe and the Agape Sunday School Class. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; Samuel Stennett Allen-Memorial # 39646347 and Lizzie Lou Patman Allen-Memorial # 53462468; husband, George Williams; sisters, Mary Faust of Amarillo, TX, Pauline Gillespie of Memphis, TX, and Jewel Carter of Gainesville, TX; brother, Bill Allen of Clarendon, TX; and, great-granddaughter, Randi Layne Williams. Survivors include a daughter, Sammie Williams Pettitt (Ken)of West Monroe; three grandchildren, Mark Shaffer of West Monroe, Stephen Shaffer (Elizabeth Grazier) of Downsville, and, Nikki Pettitt Castaldi (Pete) of Calhoun; great-grandchildren, Alan Shaffer of Ruston, Joy Shaffer of West Monroe, Derrick Cook of Monroe, Cody McKinnie of Camp Lejeune, NC, Logan McKinnie of Downsville, Shayne and, Chloie Williams of Calhoun; great-great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Caldwell, of Calhoun; step great-grandchildren, Hunter and Brianna Castaldi of Calhoun; one niece, Linda Cummings (Alex) of Gainesville, TX; two nephews, Dudley Gillespie (Elly) of Mead, OK and Billy Faust (Joan) of Texas City, TX. Much appreciation to those who cared for Mother during the past years: Mark, Stephen, Nikki, Loretta, Liz, Christina, Joy, Brianna, and the girls at Landmark Nursing Home. Visitation will be at 2:00-3:00 pm, Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, 1321 No. 7th St., West Monroe, LA.
