Harold Russell Reaney, 59, a retired railroader and farmer of Route 2, Mulkeytown, and a
former resident of the Boyd and Mt. Vernon area, died at 3:30 pm Wednesday at his home.

He was born in East st. Louis on July 9, 1916, the son of Robert H. and Katie Florence (Hulbert) Reaney.
On Dec. 5, 1936, he was married, in Mt. Vernon, to Viola Maxine Dodson, who survives.
He was a veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Stanley McCollum Post 280, Benton.
Mr. Reaney was a member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 pm at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, with Bro. Floyd Stabler
officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 pm Friday.

Mr. Reaney is survived by his wife, Viola; two sons, Harold Wayne Reaney. Mulkeytown; and Larry James Reaney, Royalton;
one daughter, Mrs. Joann Hopper, Dix; six grandchildren; two brothers, James Reaney, Gretna, Fla., and Delbert Reaney,
Mt. Vernon; and two sisters, Mrs. Irene J. French, Centralia, and Mrs. Loretta Ellis, Mt. Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lawrence and Robert. one sister, Betty Lisenby, and one grandchild.
