A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Arbuth and Thelma Austin Hamrick. She was retired from Fibert Industries, and a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she was the founder of the Bethel Baptist Church Extention Department. She was a former member of the Ellenboro town council.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Durwood Hamrick and Vitto Hamrick.
