James Patton Thompson had been a resident of the Fort Belknap community, just south of Newcastle, since 1900. Services wer held at Newcastle First Baptist Church. Mr. Thompson was a member of the Baptist Church. He was engaged in farming and cattle raising. Survived by his wife; one son - Delbert Thompson; one half-sister - Miss Nannie Bush; seven grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.
