Alice Louise Melugin was born February 2, 1933 at Independence, Kansas the daughter of Antonio Martinez, Sr. and Laura (Thomas) Martinez. She attended Independence schools.
She was a member of the Pleas Temple Church of God in Christ and in later years the Berean Christian Mission.
In 1952 she was married to Richard L. Bluitt and the couple were later divorced.
In 1971 the was united in marriage to Donald L. Melugin, Sr. . Mr. Melugin preceded his wife in death in 1989.
Survivors include: two sons, Donald L. Melugin, Jr. and Joseph Melugin, both of Independence; three daughters, Alice Wilson of Independence, Lovetta Bluitt of Houston, Texas and Rachel Bell of Independence; fourteen grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; a sister, Letha Wilson of Independence; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Laura Lynn Bluitt and several brothers and sisters.
