Phyllis is survived by her mother, Margaret Castillo, life partner, Michael Martínez of Los Lunas, sisters, Frances Horton, Marilyn Castillo-Sánchez and her husband, Chris and Christine Castillo, step-father, Florencio Gonzáles, nieces, Melissa Cavalier and her husband, Jesse, Mariah Diesel-Jones her husband, Charles and Jessica Horton, nephews, James Sánchez, Nathan Diesel and his wife, Lindsey and several great-nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her father, Frank Castillo and brother, Randy Castillo.
Ms. Castillo was a graduate of West Mesa High School where she was a cheerleader. Phyllis went on to be her family's cheerleader, celebrating their accomplishments, particularly her brother, Randy who played drums for Ozzy Ozbourne and many other rock bands.
Phyllis had a great love for her dogs who were like her children.
Phyllis will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
Family and friends may gather on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at French - University Chapel, to celebrate Phyllis' life. Phyllis will be entombed next to her brother at Mount Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Her pallbearers will be Chris Sánchez, James Sánchez, Nathan Diesel, Tony García, Linda Lucero and Christine Castillo. Honorary pallbearer will be Michael Martínez.
