Fourth child, and twin to Lucy, of Ephraim Perrin and his second wife Hannah Jones Perrin.

Levi married Elizabeth (Eliza) Curran in 1868. There were four children from this marriage; Andrew James, Anna E, Laura J, and Mary Lucy.

Levi Perrin moved to Waukegan with his brother Andrew in about 1855. There were many coincidences in the brothers' lives. Both of them married sisters. Both of them worked for the Northwestern Railroad. Levi advanced to Roadmaster of he division south of the Wisconsin line and made his home in Waukegan. He was active in the civic side of the city and was a member of the city council. Like his brother Andrew, Levi was killed in a train wreck 1 year and 10 months after Andrew's death. Probate papers show the value of his estate to be $5000. His wife was named administrator of his estate.

Levi and Eliza are buried on joint plots with Andrew and his wife Ann.
