Obituary: Better known as "Jim Pat" Douglas, the deceased was born December 24th, 1845, and departed this life January 13th, 1925, at the age of 79 years. He was first married to Simora Singleton. To this union were born two children, one of whom, with her mother, preceded him. He was latter married to Harriet Bray, and to this union were born ten children, seven girls and three boys, all living. Brother Douglas professed faith in Christ and at an early age, joined the M.E. Church at Union Cross. He was a staunch Republican, a good Christian neighbor and among the best citizens of Henderson County. He worked hard and attended strictly to his own affairs. His funeral was conducted by his pastor, Rev. E.A. Philips, in the presence of a large congregation after which the body was consigned to the grave in the Douglas Cemetery.
