VALLEY - Mr. A. C. Tolbert, 94, of Valley died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010 at Bethany House in Auburn.
Graveside services are planned for Friday, Jan. 8 at 1 p.m. at Fairfax Cemetery with the Rev. Steve York officiating.
Mr. Tolbert is survived by three children, Billy Tolbert of Valley, Sue (Eugene) Hoppe of Valley and Bobby Ray (Susan) Tolbert of Lanett; grandchildren, Edward Hoppe, Robert Hoppe, Julianne (Kevin) Pigg, Matt (Lisa) Tolbert and Beth (Nathan) Cork; great-grandchildren, Racheal Hoppe, Christopher Chase Hoppe, Brenden Hoppe, Krimson Danyale Hoppe, Sidney Hoppe, Michael Pigg, Samantha Pigg, Tiffany Tolbert and Alex Cork; and one sister, Grace Ophelia Brooks of Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Born April 27, 1915 in St. Clair County, Mr.
Tolbert was the son of the late Ophelia Caulder Tolbert and William Tolbert. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his garden and shopping. Over the years, Mr. Tolbert made a lot of his own fishing tackle.
He enjoyed visiting with people. Mr. Tolbert was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Bass Tolbert.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley
