Born in Abbeville, Abbeville, South Carolina the daughter of Josiah Carwile (1788-1841) & Sarah "Sally" Callahan (1794-1835). Clarissa Ann married William L. Bryant (1820-1851). They had two daughters, Sarah Elizabeth & Candace Ann, and one son, William Walter Bryant.
When W.L. Bryant died in 1851, Clarissa then married James Daniel Posey, who also died and she then married William Alexander Walker on 14 Nov. 1865 in Nacogdoches, Texas. They had no children.
After being thrice widowed, she lived out her life with daughter and son-in-law Thomas Flynn Sweazea and Candace Ann Sweazea in Bellevue, Clay County, Texas. At the time of her death she was buried in Bellevue Cemetery, Clay County, Texas.
