AUTOBIOGRAPHY:

I, Josephine Howell was named for my maternal grandmother who died when mother, Bertha A. McMillan, was twelve years old. I had one sister, Maxine. My father was Asbury Long McMillan. He was a Kansas pioneer as his family (12 children) all came to Kansas in a covered wagon from Ohio. A.L. McMillan settled in Macksville where he was editor of the Macksville Enterprise until his death in 1933.
