James Vasco Eberhardt, 80, of 109 New Dunham Bridge Road, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000, at his home.

Husband of Gladys A. Eberhardt,he was born in Danielsville, Ga., the son of the late George D. and Hassie McCarty Eberhardt.

Mr. Eberhardt was a U.S. Army veteran and former owner or James V. Eberhardt Plumbing Co. He was a member of West Gantt First Baptist Church and a Hejaz Shriner.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Wendel Thackston of Gray Court; a daughter, Peggy Ann Eberhardt of Spartanburg; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Enid Eberhardt of Yemassee; a brother, Kenneth B. Eberhardt of Greenville; a sister, Betty E. Dendy of Greenville; grandchildren, Melanie E. Bagwell, Brian D. Eberhardt, Maria E. Fowler and Dan Carroll; and a great-grandson, Duncan Fowler.

He was predeceased by a sister, Maurine E. Lollis.

Service: 2 p.m. Friday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Burial will be held at Graceland Cemetery, West.

Visitation: 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, prior to the service.

The family is at the residence.

Memorials may be made to Southern Care Hospice, 1097 Highway 101 South, Greer, SC 29651.
