James McFarland, 68, night watchman
James A. McFarland, 68, of Portsmouth, a former Firebrick (Ky.) resident, died Wednesday, May 18, 1994, at Southern Ohio Medical Center.
Born Oct. 19, 1925, in New Boston, a son of the late Linville and Ada Daniels McFarland, he was a night watchman for the former Portsmouth Docking Company of Portsmouth.
Preceded in death by his wife, Mae Vanhoose McFarland, Oct. 12, 1980, he is survived by a stepson, Johnny Vanhoose of West Portsmouth; a brother, Clifford McFarland of Portsmouth; a sister Viola McClurg of Portsmouth; and four step-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Firebrick Cemetery, with the Rev. Wilford Maddix officiating.
Friends may call at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Ky., from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and form 9 a.m. until the services Saturday.
