He was born in Caldwell County, July, 1862, and was the son of Dr. and Mrs. R. M. Pool. He spent his youth in Caldwell County. In 1888 Mr. Pool married Miss Lelia Goodwin to which union six children were born, three of whom survive him. They are Mrs. O. S. Waters, Mrs. C. E. Pond and J. Robert Pool, all of California.
Mr. Pool went to Herrin, Ill., in 1898, where he and his brother, Fred M. Pool, engaged in the mercantile business for nearly twenty years. In 1916 he sold his business and he and his family went to Los Angeles, where he resided until he came to Christian County in 1919 and located on a farm east of Hopkinsville.
His first wife died in 1924 and in 1925 he married Mrs. Brenda Harlow of this city, and since then had resided at the home on Clay Street. Mr. Pool was a splendid citizen, a kind and loving husband and father, and leaves a host of friends to mourn with the family.
He is survived by his second wife, three children and the following brothers and sisters, R. P. Pool, Herrin, Ill., Mesdames Zelma Reed, Cerulean; Rosa McGowan, Princeton; Willie Pope and Florence Goodwin, Herrin, Ill.
The body is being held at Harton Funeral Home awaiting the arrival of his daughters from California. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. P. C. Walker at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon at 2:30. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
