"John W. Leathers, 84, a resident of the Grand Center neighborhood almost his entire life, died at 7:30 o'clock last night at his home on Clay Street in Huntsville.
Mr. Leathers had been in ill health for several years and bedfast since he and Mrs. Leathers moved to Huntsville about six weeks ago.
He is survived by his widow; eight children: Charles of the home; Mrs. Anna Perkins of College Mound; Tink of Moberly; Alva of Sublet, Kansas; Clyde and Cora of Medicine Lodge, Kansas; and Mrs. Mary Young and Mrs. Ethel Pleasant of St. John's, Kansas; and three brothers: J.W. of Huntsville and C.G. and L.H. of Kaseyville.
Funeral services will ge held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon from the Huntsville Baptist Church conducted by the pastor, Rev. F.L. Alexander. Burial will be in the Huntsville Cemetery." Moberly Monitor-Index, February 12, 1935
