Son of Lake Newell Clark Sr and Susie Worthy Lake. He was the husband of Essie Lee Gunnels Clark. He owned funeral homes in Arizona and Texas. He moved to Waco in 1932 and purchased a funeral home. He founded Clark-Wilkirson and Hatch Insurance Company in 1942 and organized the Proctective Funeral Benefit Association in 1952. He sold the company in 1959. He was a 46 year member of the Waco Founders Lion's Club; serving as president part of those years. He was member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church and J H Gurley Masonic Lodge. He married Essie Lee Gunnels in 1924 in Los Angeles, California. He was the brother of Dr. Lawton J Clark, Lake Newell Clark Jr and Henrietta Clark Stulken.
