William G. Ellis married Anna Belle Bacon Dec. 27, 1886 in Barren co., Ky. and they had seven children.

William G. Ellis was found a thiry-five year old widower in the 1900 U.S. Census for Division 1, Barren county, Kentucky. His wife had died just a month before the census was taken. She died two days after their stillborn last born daughter was born. He had a cook living in the home with he and his six sons. He owned a farm on which he held a mortgage. The census indicated he had been married for 13 years.

William G. Ellis, age 43, was found in the 1910 U.S. Census for Glasgow City, Barren county, Kentucky. He had remarried nine years previous to Willie Dodd Kinslow. It was her first marriage. Willie was the mother of three children, all still living on 29 April 1910. William Ellis was renting a home. Their address in Glasgow was East Main Street. Also living in the same house was the Louis Kinslow family. Louis is the father of Willie Dodd (Dollie) Kinslow, William Ellis' wife.
