Bob Neil Brackeen, 72, Stonewall, died May 3, 2003, at Stonewall.

He was born June 19, 1930, to Andrew Grady and Ethel May Popejoy Brackeen in
Lamesa, Texas.

He married Lila Emery Feb. 22, 1951,in Enid, Oklahoma.

He received his GED for his high school requirements and attended college at
various locations. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1950 where he was an
investigator in the Office of Special Investigations. He retired in 1971 after
achieving the rank of Master Sergeant.

He worked for a short period as a U.S. Customs Inspector for the California
government. He was a chief inspector for the racing board of California and
Oregon, from which he retired in 1994.

He and his wife, Lila, moved to Stonewall in 1995. He was a lifetime member of
VFW Post 1202 and was the past Post Commander.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Survivors include his wife, Lila Brackeen, of the home; two daughters, Viki Jo
Kaufman Davis of Nehalem, Ore. and Charlotte Brackeen, Stonewall; three sons,
Clifford Brackeen, Aurora, Mo., Geoffrey Brackeen and W. Scott Brackeen, both
of Ridgefield, Wash.; one brother, Andrew Grady Brackeen, Jr of Winterhaven, Calif.;
12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren
