Daniel E. Latshaw Jr. Battle Creek Daniel E. Latshaw Jr., 65, died April 27, 2012. Daniel was born December 31, 1946 in Battle Creek to Daniel and Frances (Carnell) Latshaw, Sr. Daniel served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, earning the Air Medal, the Bronze Star Medal, the Silver Star Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Daniel loved watching sports. He enjoyed golfing and bowling. He particularly loved oldies music, especially the Beach Boys. Daniel is survived by his sister, Susan Andrews of Battle Creek, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Tommy L. Latshaw. At the request of the family, they will receive friends on Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home. Funeral services to celebrate Daniel's life will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 4 at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor David Hustwick. Interment with full military honors will follow at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the South Central Humane Society, or a charity of one's choice .
