Found in The State 04 November 1917: NORTHROP-Entered into eternal rest at Hendersonville, N. C., Mary R., widow of the late John T. NORTHROP. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, Columbia.
She and her husband were named as plaintiffs in the case of Johnson vs Henagan in a lawsuit heard Nov 1877 in the South Carolina Supreme Court regarding the will of her father, Barnabas Kelet Henagan (found in the book, Reports of Cases Heard and Determined by the Supreme Court of the State of South Carolina, Vol 11, which can be read online).
Note: the DOB on her grave marker is incorrect. She can be found on the 1850 US Census for Marion, South Carolina at age 4 living with B. K. Hennegan, 52, James, 18, Andrew, 12 and Robert, 10. This census specifies her birth in Marion County.
Her mother died in 1847 putting Mary's birth likely within a year of her mother's death.
