Sister Praxedis arrived in the United States in 1880 along with her mother and siblings. For 8 years Sister worked as a cook for a family in Webster, New York. For most of her religious life she was the cook at St. Peter's Orphanage in Newark, New Jersey, retiring to Villa Maria, Notch Cliff, in 1951 at the age of 87.
