CAROL ANN PHILLIPS, 46
Carol Ann Phillips, daughter of Earl and Mary Hamby Darby was born October 11, 1955 in Springfield and departed this life July 31, 2002 at the age of 46.
Carol was a lifelong resident of the Ava communities. She also lived in the Squires and Thornfield communities. She was employed as a nurse's aid and home aid for Integrity Home Health Care, Riverways, Cox North Hospital and Chastains for many years. Carol was a member of the Ava General Baptist Church.
October 13, 1979, Carol and Ed Burchell were united in marriage in Arno. Mr. Burchell preceded her in death in 1996, also preceding her in death were her parents, Earl and Mary Darby, and a sister, Brenda.
On August 19, 1999, Carol and Donald Phillips were united in marriage in Ava.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Phillips, Ava; three children, Mary Burchell, Amy Burchell, Crystal Phillips of the home; three sisters, Susan Fritz, Cathy Lansdown and Donna Watson, all of Ava; four aunts and one uncle; a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were 10 a.m. Saturday August 3 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Oren Alcorn officiating. Burial was in the Arno Cemetery.
