GREAT BEND - Leslie B Wade, 54, died at 2:30 am Saturday at St Joseph's Hospital, Denver. He had been ill five months and in the hospital three days.
Born March 8, 1916, in Russell Springs, Kentucky, he married Gladys Wright in Lyons, December 7, 1938. He was a 26-year employee of the Phillips Petroleum Company and had lived in Great Bend 13 years. He served in the Seabees, US Navy, during World War II.
He is survived by his wife; son Farrell, Wichita; daughter, Mrs S Marvin Miller, Great Bend; brothers, Kenneth, Perry, Oklahoma, and R Lee Wade, Wichita.
The funeral will be 10 am Wednesday at the Cook and Weber Funeral Home; Rev James Allen Nichols. Burial will be in the Lyons Cemetery, Lyons. The casket will not be opened at the service. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 am Monday to 9:30 am Wednesday. Contributions may be made to a memorial fund at the First Christian Church.
