Auchstetter, Arnold E. Age 81 of Richfield. Beloved husband, father and grandpa. Died Saturday April 28, 2012 at Fairview Southdale Hospital. Born October 15, 1930 in Madison, MN, the son of George and Zita Auchstetter. He graduated from Madison High School and served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years as a Staff Sargent. He worked for Dr's Cooper and Rickman as an Opthalmic Surgical Technician. Arnie enjoyed flying, reading, working on his lawn and being an active Richfield Community Advocate. Preceded in death by his parents and a sister Bernice Versaevel. Survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Bernadine; sons, Stephen Auchstetter, of Bloomington, and Paul (Cheryl) Auchstetter, of Rosemount; and a daughter, Ann (Larry) Matthes, of Centerville; granddaughters, Sierra and Celine Auchstetter and 3 step grandchildren, Jason, Arielle and Tyler Matthes. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday 10:30 am at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 6730 Nicollet Ave. S. Visitation Wednesday from 4-7 pm at the Morris Nilsen Chapel, 6527 Portland Ave. S. and one hour prior to the Mass at church. Prayer service 7:00 pm Wednesday. Interment Ft. Snelling. In lieu of flowers, memorials to donors choice.
