The comunity was shocked Sunday morning when word reached here of the death of T. H. e the Gideon, who passed away at St. Joseph's hospital in Kansas City, following an operation for appendicitis. The bereaved family have the smypathy of all.

Thomas Henry Gideon was born October 20, 1888, at St. Clere, Kansas and passed away in St. Joseph hospital at Kansas City, Mo., October 5, 1930 at the age of 41 years, 11 months and 5 days. On April 24, 1912, he was united in marriage to Miss Blanche Hoover, of Onaga, Kansas. To this union were born three children: Marietta, age 12, Thomasine, age 10, and Dale, age 3.

Besides his wife and children he leaves to moun his untimely death his father and stepmother of Newkirk, Oklahoma: six sister, Mrs Altha Hartshorne, of Ponca City, Ok, Mrs. Isaphene Claywell, of Salina, Kansas, Mrs Rosemond Kessler of El Dorado, Ks Mrs Lorene Pickett, of Ponca City, Ok., Mrs Cora Moore, of Guymore, Ok, and Mrs. Madge Hinds of Roswell, New Mexico; two brothers, Harry Gideon of Maude, Ok. and Delbert Gideon, of the United States Navy; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

He was a kind and loving father, and will be sadly missed by his many neighbors, whom he was always ready to serve in any way possible. He was not a memver of any church, but was interested in the work of the church and attended services at the neighborhood church whenever possible.

Funeral servises were held at the Congregational church in Onaga on Tuesday afternoon, in charge of Rev. R. A. Craig, of Whiting, Ks. Interment was in Onaga Cemetery.
