The community was sadden Sunday morning, when word of the death of Mrs. Alice Bonjour, an old resident, reached here. Mrs. Bonjour passed away very suddenly at her home in Cannon City, Colorado. Alice Pauline Hammerly was born at Lignieres, Switzerland, on April 15, 1869, and passed away January 24, 1937, at Canon City, Colo.; at the age of years, 9 months and 9 days. She came to Kansas in the year 1882 with her mother and brother, Mr. Alcide Hammerly, and settled on a farm near Neuchatel, where the brother has since resided.

She was united in marriage to Mr. Alcide Bonjour on May 11, 1889. To this union were born three children. Evelyn, Faye Marie, and Rheva, Faye Marie preceded her in death, December 1, 1926. Mr. Bonjour passed away September 30, 1924. Mr. and Mrs. Bonjour, with their children, moved to Onaga from their farm at Neuchatel, in the fall of 1908. She was long time member of the Onaga Congregational church, which membership she maintained here until the time of her death.
