Pauline (Polly) Smith Bevill Marsh - KILDAIRE - Pauline (Polly) Smith Bevill Marsh died Friday April 27, 2012 in an automobile accident in Statesboro, Georgia. Polly was born in Camden, South Carolina but was a life-long resident of the Newington (Kildare) community in Effingham County, Georgia. She was a graduate of Georgia Southern College and later received several post-graduate degrees from Georgia Southern University. She was a exceptional education teacher in Chatham County public schools for 35 years. She was a member of Mizpah United Methodist Church, the ancestral church of the Bevill family. She served in leadership positions with the Savannah Special Olympics for several years. Her father Emory Hinton Bevill, Jr. precedes her in death. Survivors include two children Robert William Marsh III (Traci) of Newington (Kildare) and Matthew Bevill Marsh (Tara) of Sylvania and respective grandchildren Kaydence and Gentry; her mother, Martha Farr Smith Bevill of Newington (Kildare); a brother Emory Hinton Bevill, III of Lewes, Delaware. Her marriage to Robert William Marsh Jr. ended in divorce. Visitation will be Tuesday May 1, 2012 from 5 to 7 PM. Funeral will be Wednesday May 2, 2012 at 11AM at Mizpah United Methodist Church (Kildare Community) with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
