James Arthur Whittenburg, age 95, passed away Feb. 26, 1987 at Rosehaven Convalecent Home in Datto. He was born Jan. 14, 1892 in Warm Springs ,a son of the late Abraham and Juanita Rusk Whittenburg. He lived in this area all of his life and operated a general store in E. Pocahontas for 26 years. On Sept. 12, 1915 he married Miss Fannie Belle Adams daughter of Thomas E. and Lucie O. Pratt Adams.Mr Whittenburg is survived by 2 sisters Nola King of Pocahontas and Sarah Goheen of Barnhart, MO. He was preceded in death by his wife, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral services were held at 10 A.M. Feb. 28 in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home With Bro. Samuel Rogers officiating. Burial followed in Randolph Memorial Gardens in Pocahontas. Pallbearers were Jim Bradshaw, Phil Collins, Roger Hovis, Thomas Johnston, Loren Robinson and Ralph Morrow.
