Shirley Leland Scholer, 105, died Friday, December 01, 2006 at The Towne House Health Center in Fort Wayne. Born in Jay County, IN, he was an Assistant Secretary with Lincoln National LIC for 42 years, retiring in 1966. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church since 1925; served various offices in reference to Sunday School activities; ordained Ruling Elder in 1939; served Board of Session; member of Maumee Lodge #725, F & AM, Worshipful Master 1957, awarded Indiana Grand Lodge of Gold, 50 years of masonry, 1994 Ancient Accepted Scottish rite, 1944 Thrice Potent Master, Fort Wayne Lodge of Perfection in 1965-1966 and 33rd Degree Mason.

Survivors include daughter, Carolyn (Robert) Myers of Knightstown, IN; 5 grandchildren, Jan King, Elizabeth Prather, Molly Ballard, Robert Myers and John Myers; 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Glasgow Scholer in 2000; daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn Longfellow in 1994 and Tom Longfellow in 1989; also a grandchild, Tom Longfellow III.

Service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, 300 W. Wayne Street with calling one hour prior. Calling is also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue. Masonic Rites 7:30 p.m. Tuesday by Maumee Lodge #725. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials to First Presbyterian Church Foundation or Masonic Charities.
