She was of the Lutheran faith and was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church for 55 years. She graduated from the original Central High School in 1943. Doris retired from Mead Johnson/Bristol-Meyers Squibb on October 1, 1985. She was a member of Checkmates Camping Club, the Vagabond Square Dance and Camping Club and the Hamilton Sunshine Golf League. She and her husband, Howard, were married on February 7, 1948 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Evansville. They were snowbirds and spent 25 winters in South Texas where they square danced and played golf.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gilbert and William Elmendorf; and sister, Edna Lilly.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Howard E. Loge; sons, Gary Wayne Loge of State College, PA and Curtis Alan Loge and wife, Margaret of Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Andrew Scott Loge of Columbus, OH, Heather Teresa Schriver of West Jefferson, OH, Sarah Jane Loge of Charleston, SC, Amelia Marie McKinney of Lacey WA; and great-grandchildren, Colten and Maxwell McKinney of Lacey, WA.
The family would like to thank Pastor Esterline, Dr. Hardesty, Erin and the rest of the staff, and Pine Haven for their compassion and caring.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, December 4, 2015, at Alexander West Chapel officiated by Pastor Sean Esterline with burial at Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday, 4-7 pm at the funeral home.
