U. C. Barnett, 85, former superintendent of the Dermont public schools and former teacher in Yell County died Friday afternoon in a Dermont hospital. Mr. Barnett, a retired teacher, had been a hospital patient about two weeks. His condition become critical about a week ago. Before his retirement, Mr. Barnett had taught in Arkansas public schools 36 years and for five years was an instructor at the College of the Ozarks, Clarksville. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Alma Daniels Barnett; three sons, F. V. and C. C. Barnett, Shreveport, La. and R. J. Barnett, Pocahontas; a daughter, Mrs. T. L.
