Francis E. Cummings, 75, a retired sheedmetal worker for General Metal Craft, died Sunday, July 3, 1977 in a local care center. Services were Thursday at Pegg, Paxon and Springer chapel in Beaverton with interment at Fir Lawn Cemetery, Hillsboro.

Mr. Cummings was born July 27, 1902, in Forest Grove. He was a lifetime resident of the state and 32 years in this area. He was active in baseball for many years, serving 17 years as secretary-treasurer of the Oregon State Baseball Association, more than 25 years as secretary-treasurer of Tualitan Valley League, 10 years as an umpire, and six years as manager of the Beaverton's semi-pro team.

Survivors include his wife, Buda; five step-daughters, Dorothy Marie Huff of The Dalles, Donna May Key of El Centro, Calilf., Pauline M. Stone of Portland, Rita R. Frank of Beaverton, Barbara L. Gustufson of Aloha; a sister-in-law, Mary Cummings of Portland; two nephews, 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
