Mrs. Ernest Martin, teacher, missionary: Mrs. Clara Hutchison Martin of 70 Morningside rive, a former Presbyterian teacher and missionary in India who later became a Roman Catholic, died Saturday in New York Hospital at the age of 86. She was the widow of Dr. Ernest Douglas Martin, a former Presbyterian clergyman in Lahore. She was born in South Armenia, N.Y., the daughter of the Rev. Sylvanus Nye Hutchison and Abigail Page Reed Hutchison, and attended Blair Hall, now Blair Academy. Mrs. Martin taught at Miss Veal's School in Toronto before going to India, where she taught for seven years at Woodstock United Provinces. Surviving are a son, Capt. William A.P. Martin, U.S.N., retired, of Annapolis; a daughter, Miss Susan Martin; two brothers; two sisters, and three grandchildren......Death notice, same page, adds "funeral from Walter B. Cook, Inc. funeral home, 180 E. 85th St. Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. Requiem mass Notre Dame Church, 10 o'clock. Interment, Annapolis, Maryland.
