According to _The History of the Family of Benjamin Snow_, compiled and published by Owen Wilcox, The Gates Legal Publishing Co., Cleveland, 1907, page 198, Ned J. Dougherty was the son of James Bradley and Elizabeth (Schaumber) Dougherty, born 05 Feb 1898 in Otsego, MN. He died 29 Mar 1898.
In the 1900 Census of Otsego, James B and Elizabeth Dougherty are living with two sons, Lawrence W, 4, and Philip W, 1. Elizabeth is said to have had three children, two of whom are living.
It is unclear whether the cemetery records, the stone, or the Snow Family book is in error. It is also possible that two Dougherty boys were buried here, one who died in 1898 and another who died in 1901.
