Death of Mrs. Amos Curtis
The news of the sudden death of Mrs. Amos Curtis, who resides northwest of the city, came as a shock to the community Tuesday. She passed away at her home at 12 o'clock (noon) that day.
Elizabeth Park Welch (sic) was born in Scotland, August 27, 1890 (sic) and died at Stafford, Kansas, June 3, 1919, age 29 years, 9 months and 7 days. She was married to Amos Curtis and to this union four children were born, the youngest, a babe, but a few hours of age when the mother passed away. She was a kind and loving wife and mother, a splendid neighbor and a true friend, and one who will be greatly missed in the home and community.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Leesburg church and were conducted by the Rev. Clayton of Wichita. Interment was made in the Leesburg cemetery.
The Courier joins the many friends in extending heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved husband and children.
(Note: another member has proof of her name and date of birth which are incorrect both in the obituary and on the tombstone.)
