Services for Floyd W. Bond, 68, of Kempton R. 2, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Nester Funeral Home, Jacksonville. Calling hours will be 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.
Bond, a self-employed painter before retirement, died Saturday in Allentown Hospital. He succumbed almost five hours after being critically injured in a three-car accident several miles north of Fogelsville at the intersection of Route 100 and the Orefield-Claussville Road.
He was the husband of Ellen (Hollenbach) Bond. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Dorothy Klingemanan, in 1995.
Born in Albany Township, Berks County, he was a son of the late Alfred and Ellen (LeVan) Bond. He was a member of the Lutheran Congregation of New Bethel Union Church, Kempton R. 2.
Surviving besides his widow are three daughters, Mildred, wife of Claude Nester of Jacksonville, Catherine, wife of N. David Kistler of Kempton R. 2, 1 and Anna, wife of Walter Blatt of Bernville R. 2; a stepson, Russell Hollenbach of Emmaus; two stepdaughters, Mae, wife of Gerald Kemmerer of Emmaus, and Ruth, wife of Joseph Soldrich of Bowers; five sisters, Mrs. Mamie Englemeyer of Allentown; Mrs. Florence Berk and Elsie, wife of Elmer Bailey, both of Kempton R. 2, Esther, wife of Lee Snyder of Topton, and Lovie, wife of Homer Kunkel of Stoney Run; four brothers, John of Kempton R. 2, Wirt and Paul, both of Kempton, and George of Seipstown, and six grandchildren, six step-grand-children and three great-grandchildren.
